The rolling hills and meadows of Vermont’s picturesque countryside set the scene for Corey and Jack’s summer barn wedding celebration at The Barn at Boyden Farm. Though June showers fell steadily, our rustic barn venue’s iconic red exterior and charm offered the perfect intimate ambiance for this loving couple’s special day.
Safe From the Rain With a Summer Barn Wedding
On trend with an exceptionally wet summer, raindrops began pattering on the barn’s roof on the day of Corey and Jack’s wedding. However, with forethought and creativity, they seamlessly transitioned their ceremony indoors to our wedding barn without missing a beat. As guests found their seats, chandeliers and string lights cast a warm glow, accentuating the wooden beams and etching a golden hue on everything inside. Blue Locket Photography was behind the lens for Corey and Jack’s wedding, beautifully capturing all the heartwarming moments and gorgeous details from their barn celebration.
Incorporating the Traditional Tea Ceremony
Before tying the knot, Corey and Jack put much thought and care into how to incorporate the traditional tea ceremony into their wedding. These revered customs celebrate the couple’s deep family ties, honor their family members, and symbolize the welcoming of the bride and groom into each others’ families. Tea was poured and presented to parents and older family members as a sign of respect as guests watched with appreciation.
After this important piece of the ceremony was complete, Corey and Jack recited personalized vows and exchanged rings underneath a beautiful floral wedding arch, custom made by one of their family members. Despite the rain outside, the newly-married couple reveled in the coziness and cherished the ability to include every member of their families in such sacred customs.
A Cozy Barn Wedding Reception
After their heartfelt wedding ceremony filled with cultural tradition, Corey and Jack continued their celebration with a cozy barn reception catered by the talented team at The Roving Feast. Fluid Bar Service was enlisted for their stellar bar services, serving up craft cocktails and the couple’s signature drinks: “Franklin the Salty Cat” and the “VLS Maple Old Fashioned”. In addition to an abundant dessert table, Palmer Lane Maple made an appearance in their maple creemee truck, giving guests a sweet taste of Vermont.
Despite the rainy weather, the barn’s warm ambiance made for an inviting and lively party atmosphere. Corey and Jack’s infectious smiles as they danced their first dance as husband and wife set the tone for an incredibly joyful evening, and Premier Entertainment’s DJ services had the newlyweds and their guests celebrating and dancing the night away. For a surprise treat, the couple also had a late-night pizza delivery from Rusty’s Pizza, a local joint in Cambridge, Vermont.
Corey and Jack’s summer barn wedding at The Barn at Boyden Farm exemplified how the perfect venue can bring a couple’s wedding day vision to life, even when the weather doesn’t cooperate. From the heartfelt cultural traditions during the ceremony to the cozy, deliciously catered reception, no one would have rather been anywhere else than in the warm, radiant ambiance of the rustic barn raising a glass to the newlyweds.
